Intro - MGM vs Grokster
By brett
In 2005, I attended the MGM vs. Grokster supreme court decision. Hundreds of people protested outside the courthouse. The music industry told kids "music is like a donut - you buy it, then you get to eat it". The kids outside said "I don't think you can own music. Its just, like, words".
These two statements contain everything you want to know about the copyright debate. Is music (and culture) a product? Can an idea be owned? Or should they be free? And free on who's terms?

Sound loudness
The footage is way lower than the rest, so if you're listening to the footage, then the final music hurts your ears 'cause it's too loud...
