Submit a remix

Much of the remix work that appears in RiP: A remix manifesto was done simply by watching footage uploaded to the site, downloading it, remixing, and uploading back. A simple call and response process that led to amazing results.

To take part, simply find footage in the uploads section, and download it to your computer. Each piece of footage is a "node" with a link to download the media.

When you have done editing, submit footage back in the submit content section.

We'd also love to see you submit your existing mashups and video remixes as well!

Always keep in mind the higher the resolution the better - we need this to play on a big big screen!
Remember, you need to register before uploading content.

Is this legal? I mean is there any copyright law violated? I ask this because I am also a singer, composer. I loved to mix songs of my choice but in a legal way. I know for sure this is legal but I just want to make it sure. And by the way, any moderator for this thread? It seems so many unnecessary, irrelevant comments were "appearing" ...

the idea of open source remixing seems an ambitious one. i once thought about the possibility of doing this with novels, but decided the end result couldn't possibly be better than the work of a single talented individual. the same might not be true of film remixing since all the footage is already there, whereas i imagined novel remixers would add their own content.

I like your project, but I live in Australia and so can't see a way to get the files.

I guess you must have some jurisdictional issue with your CC licences or funding tied to the US or something but to me I don't get why I can't just down load it and start cutting it up and giving my edits back to you.

Help, I need some of these great examples to share in training teachers. If they go to use the website after training and keep getting errors they will stop trying and give up on the software entirely rather than continuing to fail.
